01 / ENGINEERING BOUNDARY
A controlled
sample scope.
Synthetic EPC/OEM data set with deliberately introduced inconsistencies: a controlled educational QC exercise, not a real vendor package or a claim of completed client work.
Demonstration assumptions
- 50–100 synthetic instrument tags distributed across example P&IDs, I/O and datasheet extracts.
- Seeded discrepancies in tag references, engineering units, signal types, ranges and interface ownership.
- Define source priority and review rules; clearly distinguish factual errors from questions needing client resolution.
- Produce reconciliation sheets, consolidated technical queries and a QC close-out checklist.
Technical references: Project I&C specification; IEC 61082 / IEC 81346 for document conventions where applicable; IEC 61511 only for documented SIS interfaces if supplied by responsible process safety engineers. No SIL design, validation or regulated sign-off is claimed.
