SOL-012 / TYPICAL ENGINEERING PACKAGE

Heat-exchanger / District Heating Skid Controls.

A representative E&I contractor scope for Building Utilities equipment in Netherlands.

01 / APPLICATION & ENGINEERING BOUNDARY

Define the equipment.
Then the deliverables.

heat interface unit, circulation pumps, heat meters, control valves

This example describes a scoped documentation package for Utility skid OEM / HVAC integrator. It is not a completed client project or an issued engineering design.

02 / THE CONTRACTED RESULT

What the engineer
hands over.

Deliverables are selected from the client's document register. Native engineering files, formats and review status are agreed in the RFQ rather than assumed.

01PLC/HMI I/OIssued per agreed revision and file format
02valve schedulesIssued per agreed revision and file format
03panel electrical documentationIssued per agreed revision and file format
03 / SCOPE & ACCEPTANCE

From source data
to controlled issue.

Typical engineering activities

  • Review source documents; record data gaps and agree engineering boundaries
  • Confirm electrical supply, control philosophy and device/interface allocation
  • Develop circuit, control-cabinet and wiring documents against approved component data
  • Run tag/terminal/connection and document consistency checks
  • Submit controlled review package; resolve agreed comments and issue final deliverables

Required client inputs

  • Approved equipment boundary, destination market and contractual engineering code basis
  • Customer drawing templates, document register and deliverable/acceptance requirements
  • Latest P&IDs, equipment list and process interface description
  • Instrument/process datasheets and approved vendor packages
  • BMS point schedule and sequence-of-operations requirements
  • Equipment connection list and responsible building-systems interfaces
  • Project document revision policy and planned technical review rounds

Typical acceptance checks

  • Tag and equipment IDs reconcile across drawings and registers
  • Revision, document numbers and exported file formats match the agreed register
  • Open assumptions and unresolved design interfaces are explicitly logged
  • Device cross-references, terminal/wire assignments and BOM match the schematic design
  • I/O types, loop terminals, instrument tags and associated cable identifiers are consistent
04 / REGIONAL & INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC BASIS

Codes depend
on the contract.

Product engineering, site installation and regulated sign-off are separate work scopes. These references are starting points only and must be checked for edition, applicability and local adoption.

PRODUCT / MACHINE / OEM

Applicable engineering references

EN/IEC 60204-1 for machinery; EN/IEC 61439 for applicable LV assemblies; client control philosophy

Confirm with approved client Codes & Standards Register.
REGIONAL / SITE INSTALLATION

Netherlands context

NEN 1010 — fixed site LV installations where applicable

NEN 1010 governs fixed low-voltage installations where applicable; it is not the default control-panel product standard.
EXCLUDED OR CLIENT-OWNED

Scope boundary

Pressure system design and statutory sign-off remain with the OEM or appointed qualified designer.

Final roles and approval responsibilities are set out in the contract and RFQ.
