Engineering Hours & Budget Estimator

Select a specialist engineering scope or use the original multi-package estimator. Estimate hours and budgets only against explicit time allowances. No server submission from this page.

06 / ENGINEERING SCOPE PLANNING

Engineering scope & time-based estimation

Specify the exact engineering units, select deliverables and apply verified hours-per-unit from measured work. Four specialist models are available. No productivity rates are invented or preloaded. Until evidence is available, you can still export a complete scope and request a custom quotation.

EPLAN Migration & Intelligent Redraw

Editable commercial assumption, not a measured rate
Engineering quantities and expected deliverables

Each line has an explicit quantity and its own low/high hours per unit. Dense drawings, variants, wiring channels and field loops are distinct engineering units. A task with zero quantity is excluded.

Engineering work-rate assumptions are configured from measured demonstration time logs, not requested from the customer.

Measured project setup & verification hours
Awaiting measured time allowances.
Calibration method

Record actual task hours on self-produced demonstration projects, excluding setup, QA and customer revisions. Group time logs by task, quantity and source condition. Import rates only after independent trials; otherwise use manually entered, explicitly unverified allowances. A calibration kit is provided separately for this prototype.

Existing multi-package calculator

The original eight-package model remains available below with its earlier editable provisional assumptions. These are not validated measured productivity norms. The new four specialist models above never reuse those rates without evidence.

Legacy estimator / eight documentation packages

Archived engineering assumptions are retained only for internal comparison. They are not time-calibrated and should not be used to quote commercial work.

Editable scope assumptions

Build the scope register

Planning assumptions were moderated in October 2026 against published freelance/contractor rates. Per-item engineering hours remain provisional until validated against completed work. This is not an offer.

Engineering work packages

01 LINE

Load example: 5 work packages (100 I/O, 45 loops, 80 cables, 2 panels, 30 FAT tests) ↗

Add individual deliverables and quantities. Each package has its own setup hours; shared engineering work and overlaps are not deducted automatically.
Rates reflect a commercial positioning hypothesis, not published project awards.
Client-adjustable planning assumption, not a guaranteed tariff
Applied to combined hours only when multiple packages are selected. Do not select without a document register and an overlap assessment.0 h review adjustment
Recorded for your enquiry; it does not change the calculation automatically.
Estimation methodology

How Your Engineering Estimate Is Prepared

Engineering effort is calculated for each selected work package, taking into account document quantities, technical complexity, available input data and the expected number of review cycles.

Combine individual packages to explore an indicative project-level effort and budget before preparing an RFQ.

From estimate to proposal

A Clear Scope. A Transparent Quotation.

  1. Review the indicative engineering hours and budget.
  2. Share your project documentation and technical requirements.
  3. Agree deliverables, review cycles, schedule and commercial terms.

The estimate supports initial planning. Final pricing is confirmed after reviewing the project scope and available information.

Work-package productivity assumptions

Unit allowances below are internal planning hypotheses for defined deliverables with reusable templates, accessible references and consistent input data. They are not measured industry averages, contract prices or guaranteed production rates. A separate vendor review and technical qualification is required before any binding RFQ.

All planning budgets exclude taxes, CAD licences, legal certification, site attendance, travel, insurance, field work, statutory approvals and third-party testing. For scopes involving regulated engineering sign-off, use locally qualified professionals. Calibration will be updated using anonymised time logs from completed work.
